You have permission to fail, so go ahead and try
Permission to fail: The hardest step when it comes to starting anything new in life, including starting your own business, is the belief that you can. I can speak from experience that this is half the battle. Fear of failure holds most people back.
I think the best quote I have ever read is from Denis Waitely: “Failure should be our teacher, not our undertaker. Failure is delay, not defeat. It is a temporary detour, not a dead end. Failure is something we can avoid only by saying nothing, doing nothing, and being nothing.”
Failure doesn’t mean that you are a failure. Thomas Edison said it best “I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.” Finding what works, the solution, is one of the most exciting journeys you will ever take. Enjoy the journey and where it takes you along the way.
As I mentioned, half the battle when starting out is the belief that you can face failure, the other half is planning and action-ing how you are going to succeed. In business this is starting with a solid, viable plan, then getting out there, generating and chasing your *leads – literally.
If you don’t have a plan – how do you know where you are going? And if you don’t action that plan – generate and chase leads – how do you expect your business to grow? So you have permission to fail, be fearless in it’s pursuit, as failure will lead to your greatest successes in life and business.
